Chris Huhne vists Kings Copse Primary School

Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne has been given a progress update on the building work on the new Kings Copse Primary school, which will have specialist facilities for visually impaired children from all over south Hampshire.

Mr Huhne is pictured here with Kings Copse Head Teacher Mrs Esther Jones and with site manager Mr Steve Gardner who is one of the leaders of the HBG building contractors on site.

"The new school is taking shape in a very exciting way" said Mr Huhne. "It is going to be a fantastic resource both for the local community in Hedge End and for those youngsters across South Hampshire who have been born with a visual impairment.

"The new buildings are clearly going to be light and airy with state of the art features such as underfloor heating, and a new kitchen to allow hot food to be prepared. The old school does not have that" said Mr Huhne.
