Chris Huhne, Member of Parliament for Eastleigh

Not enough just to ask about youth crime

12.01.00am GMT Thu 15th May 2008

Commenting on the Government's plans to extend the British crime survey to under-16s announced today, Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary, Chris Huhne said:

"Given the spate of teenage killings in recent months on the streets of our capital, this is a welcome move.

"Sadly, fear of guns, knives and gangs is a very real concern for many young people today and merely asking them about it is not enough.

"The Government has got to take action to get these weapons off our streets by reaching out to communities and using intelligence-led stop and search."
