More headline grabbing gimmicks won't solve youth crime

12.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 15th Jul 2008

Commenting on the launch of the Government's Youth Crime Action Plan, Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary, Chris Huhne said:

"The Government's much vaunted plan looks like a hotchpotch of recycled measures and bad ideas.

"More headline-grabbing gimmicks are not going to solve our complicated youth crime problems.

"Ministers must stop grandstanding and start talking about what actually works."
