CUTTING FLOOD DEFENCE BUDGETS MADNESS – HUHNE
Responding to the Association of British Insurers Report, warning of a big increase in flooding risk across eastern England, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, Chris Huhne MP said
“This report highlights the madness of cutting flood defence budgets when we know that climate change is severely increasing the threat of flooding.
“Flood defences are our first bulwark against some of the worst effects of climate change, and it is essential they are maintained to the highest standards.”
