Intercept evidence is overdue
Responding to the news that the Prime Minister has agreed in principle to the use of intercept evidence in court, Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary, Chris Huhne said:
“The use of intercept evidence is overdue and will help to bring many criminals to justice without resorting to desperate measures such as a further extension of the period of detention without charge or trial to 42 days.
“We have fallen behind other countries that are already using intercept evidence.”
