Police numbers need to rise not fall
Commenting on Home Office statistics showing a fall in police numbers, Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary, Chris Huhne said:
“With violent crime far too high, the overwhelming priority must be to get more police patrolling our streets.
“The Government should scrap its expensive and intrusive ID card scheme and put another 10,000 extra police officers on the beat.”
