Government Must Renegotiate Lopsided US Extradition Treaty – Huhne

Commenting on the announcement that the US and UK have ratified an EU-US agreement on extradition, Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary, Chris Huhne said:

“This makes it even more urgent that the Government renegotiates our deeply lopsided extradition arrangements with the United States.

“If this becomes an EU-wide arrangement, it could be even more difficult for any future government to unpick.

“This would do nothing to prevent more cases like the unfair extradition of Gary McKinnon.”
